Happy pre-Labor Day!!!!
Since this is the 5th Tuesday of the month, there is no set topic scheduled.....sooooo.......I thought I would talk to you about something that I feel is an important tool for reaching optimal health. It's also a tool you can use for changing/starting a habit or achieving a goal.
What is that tool, you say? Well it's actually a person, a trained professional that can assist you in your journey. A coach, mentor, therapist, or some type of trainer that can assess where your at and setup a step-by-step plan to get you from point A to point B.
Most of us really have a hard time developing a plan, getting into action, or maintaining the momentum with a health goal (or any goal for that matter). It's hard work, let's face it. And we would much rather spend the that time doing something else.
But we are not meant to do it alone. As humans we do need support in our journey. Someone who can lead us, inspire us and guide us to the finish line.
Over the years, I've had great mentors, therapists, coaches, instructors and personal trainers that have made some of my journeys go a whole lot smoother and easier. And in most cases they helped me achieve what I wouldn't have been able to do without their help.
Why do we continuously spin our wheels either in the 'inaction' phase or 'journey' phase when help is so easily available!
Wouldn't it be so nice to have someone that can make the journey less bumpy and go a little faster? It's like getting lost driving to someplace new and refusing to ask directions. Remember the old days when there was no such thing as GPS? π π±
If you feel like you need total control, I get it. I was known as the ME DO IT child. In some aspects I'm still that ME DO IT adult. But I finally did recognize my limits and its OKAY to ask for help. Asking for help is WAY better than being miserable while you continue to delay the start of something transformational or you lose your way and have no idea what to do next.
