šŸ’– A simple trick to reaching your goals šŸ’–


If you've been following me for awhile you know I'm a big fan of the 'BABY STEP' theory.

The premise behind the baby step theory is that we can easily reach any goal if we just approached it by completing one tiny task daily, weekly or monthly, consistently. Beginning any project or goal can seem overwhelming. We feel like it's a massive undertaking. And that we need massive amounts of time and knowledge to get started.

Taking small bite-sized actionable and consistent steps is the key to getting into action and reaching any goal successfully.

I've done my own personal study of the 'baby step' theory for a number of years. And it's amazing what you can accomplish when you work on it consistently, but in small enough chunks that fit into your day or week.

Below is a picture of me at the Susan G Komen 3-day 60 mile walk back in 2010. Now THAT was a massive undertaking. If I had thought about it too hard, I would have choked the first week of training. šŸ¤Ŗ But taking the training day by day, one step at a time (literally), allowed me to reach the finish line, all 60 miles.

We may look for that chunk of time to fully immerse ourselves into that project. Or we may wait for that magical 'wand' that's going to make it easier. Or we think someone is going to 'save' us and do it for us.

We have so many excuses for not moving forward, But are they really legit?

What are the reasons for not taking that first step? Do we even know? Can we identify what they are?

That first step can be the hardest, especially if it's beyond our comfort zone. Procrastination, indecision, fear and over thinking can zap our energy before we even get started.

Think of the projects, goals, or items on your bucket list that have been languishing in the back of your mind for years and even decades. How much time and energy do we give to THINKING about getting started? How much time and energy do we give to IGNORING our bucket list? (The act of ignoring does take energy, subconscious energy.)

If you want to get into action NOW:

  • Choose ONE thing you've always wanted to accomplish.
  • Set an intention TODAY to get started
  • Set an intention TODAY that you WILL successfully reach this goal, no matter how much time it takes.
  • Choose ONE small baby step you can take TODAY to get the ball rolling and make it happen.
  • Continue taking one baby step at a time, either daily, weekly or monthly.

Just remember, baby steps are better than NO steps.

So get in motion today!
